Not So Rosie in Rapid City

Dearest Auntie,

You have never seen a problem like mine. My husband, greatest guy in the world, my children, well behaved, with good grades. My mother-in-law is a peach. The only real problem in my life is my cousin Rosie.

Rosie is what you call an instigator. She likes to remind my husband that she had him before me (they are third cousins once removed) and she tells my children that she loves her Panache (that's what she calls her poodle) more than them, and she tell my mom that she shouldn't have been such a good Catholic (I'm the fourth child) and she tells HER mom that my mother-in-law is jealous because she was the good looking cousin.

Rosie has never been able to hold onto a boyfriend for long, but the men she brings around my children are obnoxious. I have begged my husband to bar her visiting, but he just says "Rosie is funny. You have to let her be Rosie."

Well I am about fed up with her. And now she wants to stay at our house for the month. She got a job offer in town and she doesn't want to get an apartment until she knows if she likes the job.

I will pour Draino over that woman's Shredded Wheat if she stays in my house for a day. Please tell me how to stop letting Rosie be Rosie.

Not So Rosie in Rapid City

Dear Not So Rosie,

I saw this same thing on All My ChildrenThe Young and The Restless and Nashville. The writers killed off the Rosie character in each series. Since your husband likes her being around, I don't see that you have any other choice.
